Pre School Fall Harvest Party

On Halloween morning, Heidy's preschool had their Fall Harvest Party. I helped with it. First they had a hayride. The 2 yr old class and the 3 yr old class went first.

They came inside to decorate treat bags they can carry tonight. They colored pictures that were glued on them, after they were cut out.

They also got to decorate their own cookie for part of their snack. Heidy loved that part!!

There was a bean bag toss and other games too, they had lots of fun. They always do at their parties.

Fall Festival 2007

One year ago tonight, Heidy came home from Riley's Children's Hospital in Indianapolis from her hip surgery. She didn't get to go to her first "Fall Festival" at our church because of her surgery. But she did this year!!!!

We met my Mom and Dad for dinner a couple of weeks ago, for my mom's birthday. We met at Cracker Barrel, as soon as we sat down, my dad says "Do you remember the last time we met at here and sat at this very table?" I did, it was the first time that my mom and dad got to see and meet Heidy!!

I brought Mom a few things from Ethiopia and this shawl was one thing. She had to try it on, of course!

Old and New friends, all from China!!

Saturday was the first round of playoffs for our high school football team. Heidy's old friends, Molly and Gabi, her new friend, Ava were all there. Molly came home from China before Heidy came home from Guatemala and Gabi came home in September and Ava just came home on the 24th of October!! The one that was missing was Maci, she was with her Grandma!! Molly's mommy and daddy are going back to China maybe before the end of the year to get Molly a sister!!

And last but not least is Miss Ava, just home a few days from China!! Isn't she sweet??

She was asleep the whole time we saw her but that is ok, I'm sure we will see her awake a whole lot!!

Noah's Birthday Party

On Saturday, October 20, we went to a birthday party for our friend, Noah, he turned 3 years old!! The party was a lot of fun and the weather was great!

This is the birthday boy, Noah.
They are pulling the strings for the pinata, instead of hitting it, you pull strings to open it, which is a lot safer!!
They took turns pulling the strings. Noah was the one who pulled the string that actually opened it, which I thought was cool since it was his birthday.

They are gathering the candy and goodies. Heidy said something that was cute, she had gathered a few things for her bag and someone tried to give her a second bouncy ball and Heidy refused to take it saying "No, I already have one, that's ok." They told she could have another one but she wouldn't she had one already and that was enough.

This is more Heidy's speed, the Escalade, in high gear, of course!! Jayden wanted to drive, but Heidy wouldn't let him if she was in the car with him. He is younger and wasn't as good of a driver, not that Heidy is perfect.

After a lot of people left, Heidy and Noah were playing football, it was so cute watching them chase each other.

It was a great afternoon!! After we left, we met my mom and dad for dinner at Cracker Barrel.

Substituting at Preschool

Today when we got to Heidy's pre school, they told me that 3 teachers are out, sick!! I offered to help in Heidy's class. I have all the qualifications, a bachelor's degree, been fingerprinted and have experience. I taught at a pre school before our oldest was born. So anyway, I ran home really fast and went back, I grabbed my coffee and camera...... :-) of course!
